With an intriguing flavour and a name to match, this is our special blend. It combines a uniquely high proportion of malt whiskey matured in former Oloroso Sherry casks with a sweet, batch-distilled grain whiskey. This unique recipe gives BLACK BUSH its rich fruity notes and deep intense character, balanced by a unique smoothness.
Nose: Big, full, rich fruitcake aroma. Intense Sherry sweetness, developing into dried fruit / raisin / Christmas cake notes.
Palate: Soft, silky texture with a nutty character.
Finish: Lingering sweetness. Remarkable balance between the power from Sherry-seasoned casks and the smoothness of the spirit.

ABOUT BUSHMILLS™ IRISH WHISKEY
BUSHMILLS Irish Whiskey is hand crafted in small batches for a smooth taste at Ireland’s oldest working distillery, in Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland. The brand portfolio includes six award-winning whiskies: BUSHMILLS, BLACK BUSH™, BUSHMILLS 10 Year Old Single Malt, BUSHMILLS 16 Year Old Single Malt, BUSHMILLS 21 Year Old Single Malt and our anniversary edition, BUSHMILLS 1608.
Black Bush is made up of 80% malt whiskey and 20% grain whiskey, aged for "up to" seven years in Spanish oak seasoned with Oloroso sherry and American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
The Nose: Light, crisp and fruity. Clean malt notes, and juicy tart apples along with raisins and macerated cranberries. Behind those initial notes are subtler notes of slightly bitter grain, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, stewed fruits, and hints of almond cake. Tucked further back is a bit of greenish spice, burnt popcorn, and fresh cut oak.
The Palate: Airy yet chewy mouthfeel, quite sweet and a little empty to start, but quickly fills out with more raisins and stewed fruit. The nuttiness that was hinted at on the nose comes through more on the palate, roasted and salted almonds and walnuts. A mild wave of tannic, slightly bitter spice rounds off the palate, vanilla extract, coarse clove, nutmeg, a little cardamom, and unsweetened baker's chocolate at the end.
The Finish: Medium-ish. Tannic dark fruits, roasted nuts and those slightly bitter holiday spices hover about
