Eksklusiv release på mikro-spiritus
København gav plads til en stilfærdig verdenspremiere, da det danske mikrobryggeri Mikkeller lancerede en serie af mikro-destilleret spiritus. Mikkeller er kendt verden over for en eksperimenterende og innovativ tilgang til ølbrygning. Nu går bryggeriet videre med mikro-spiritus under navnet Mikkeller Spirits. Spiritus-linjen bliver produceret i samarbejde med Braunstein i Køge. I første omgang lancerer Mikkeller en vodka, en gin, og en white dog plus en helt særlig ’beer brandy’. Beer brandyen destilleret på Mikkellers imperial stout ’Black’ og er efterfølgende lagret på forskellige træfade.

Historically this is moonshine liquor, the easily made spirit of local ingredients from the south. Yes, it’s made rather easy, but the intense care, the quality of raw materials, the skills of Braunstein Distillery, makes this Mikkeller White Dog a smooth mofo to drink by itself or even better, high class standard liquor for cocktails.
If you don’t know the White Dog concept, don’t be ashamed. This has by its criminal and secret birth been kept in the dark and since been put aside for the more famous Single Malt Whisky and Bourbons. Mikkeller re-introduces this fine liquor; this is the untanned but strong and reliable pale younger brother of the famous liquor styles. He will bark, not bite, he likes to mingle among friends, not to be the center of attention, not the outspoken mad dog kind of liquor, but he steps up when needed!
Tasting notes
Mikkeller White Dog – Corn Whiskey before it sees a barrel. It’s produced from unique and complementary malted barleys and corn. The aroma is of rich grain and cereal while the flavor has layers of dark chocolate, malt but yet sweet from the corn. The body of the whiskey is full, lingering on the palate with a surprising smooth and fresh finish.
White Dog is released because it stands strong on its own and is a great companion to Mikkeller’s barrel-aged versions. Even in its infancy as a Corn-whiskey, the White Dog is an incredible spirit – especially for cocktails or served neat.
